We rented a unit from them in order to de-clutter our house while staging it for sale. Anna walked us through all our storage options, showed us around the property, and secured a clean 10′ x 15′ for us. We chose a climate-controlled space. Even with the unit’s interior-facing entrance, access was easy. Guardian built their facility with wide hallways and doorways, and equipped each entrance with carts for moving items in and out. During our home sale process, our basement flooded in the 2013 Colorado Flood. We moved everything from our house into Guardian, which stayed completely dry during the flood! Anna helped us find a second, smaller unit to accommodate some of our additional belongings. This unit was located in a different part of the property, yet was just as nice as the first one we had rented. Guardian Storage Expands Green Initiatives

At Guardian, we’re committed to reducing our environmental impact.

In addition to working with LEED accredited architects for sustainable building materials, water, and electric efficiency, we’ve taken steps to reduce our footprint.

This past year, we made the sizable investment to upgrade to low-energy LED bulbs in all light fixtures at all of our properties, dramatically reducing our emissions profile.

This one change successfully decreased our annual electric usage by  89% year over year!

Additionally, we increased our annual green power purchase from Renewable Choice Energy to equal 100% of our annual electricity usage. Our purchase takes the form of renewable energy credits (RECs.) The 100% renewable electricity that we’ve chosen over regular electric service has a greenhouse gas benefit equal to planting 2,382 fully mature trees or removing 98 cars from the road for a year.

RECs are the way that green power is tracked and traded in North America and are used by thousands of organizations, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, to decrease environmental impact. The RECs we’ve purchased from Renewable Choice Energy are Green-e® Energy certified, which meet the environmental and consumer-protection standards set forth by the nonprofit Center for Resource Solutions (learn more at www.green-e.org).
